A Luxurious Marble Shower in South Boston

I take you to our project in South Boston and give you a glimpse into an epic marble steam shower that will make you drool with envy. This is what happens when you combine luxury and intentionally designed details.

THE LUXURY OF STEAM

This is going to be a beautiful primary suite, and the marble steam shower is definitely the focal point. We’ve built a linen closet on the back side of the shower and tucked the steam generator up in the closet; keeping it as close to the shower as possible affords efficiency. The natural marble we are using and the large shower space meant that we would need to increase the steam capacity, which we considered when beginning this project. A linear drain along the far side of the shower floor is not only stylish but functional; it is easily removed with a small tool so you can clean that space as well.

Seriously, can you think of a better way to relax, refresh, and recharge at the end of a long day than by walking into a luxuriously finished marble steam shower?

MARBLE TILES LIKE PUZZLE PIECES

There’s a reason why Liz is an assistant project manager—and she proved her worth once again on this project. She realized that the marble tile pieces—12” x 24”—needed to be laid out in a specific way. The pieces actually have a consistent pattern and appear to have been cut from a much larger piece. So, we laid all the pieces out on the floor and assembled them like puzzle pieces—and a grain pattern began to emerge. The result? Now the marble tile pieces work beautifully together, combining to create the illusion of a bigger pattern. It’s gorgeous!
